ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

Nathalie Lété is a French artist, born in 1964 to a German mother and a Chinese father. She is based in Paris, where she lives and works out of her studio filled with thousands of illustrations, textiles, paintings, home décor, and ceramics.

She works in many ways, mixing different techniques and mediums, illustration, ceramics, textile and painting. Natalie is inspired by her travels, but also by the mixing of vintage toys and old engravings of flowers and animals.

Her work is colourful, naive and poetic, sometimes strange, to the point of tending towards art brut. Her world is nurtured by popular and folk art from her both origins - Chinese and German.

Nathalíe produces children’s and graphic’s books, knitted and stuffed toys, glass pictures, patterned dishes, but also postcards, ceramic sculptures, silkscreen printed t-shirts, rugs and jewels in limited edition for herself and for commissions.

She has collaborated with a wealth of global brands including Gucci, Issey Miyake, and Uniqlo, and has a large following. 

Her unique, whimsical, and imaginative style has won the hearts of fans worldwide, including celebrities such as Tim Burton and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
